I scored some Sesame Street Live tickets for today's matinee performance, with special passes to meet with some characters prior to the show. We brought Grandma Karen with us - Maureen was keyed up.
The only downside for Mo (besides crying when the show was over) was that they sent characters who were not Elmo out for the pre-show party: Zoe and Cookie Monster. We really talked up Elmo prior to going - you may notice a mix of disappointment and befuddlement on Maureen's face while sitting on Cookie Monster's knee.
She watched the whole show. Even though it went well into nap time, she fought off the sandman and was mesmerized by the production.

Kristin had to leave midway through for an open house, and Karen and I wanted to join her soon after, but Mo loved every minute of it.
The added bonus is that Mo is too young to realize the Elmo balloons they brought down the aisle during intermission were for sale, and that her daddy had the eight bucks needed to purchase one.
This was a nice cap to a fun-filled weekend. PS: 2 pee pees on the potty today!!
Addendum: add one more peepee and one dookie today.

Great pictures. That looked like fun.
Aren't you going to continue the poop-count? It's very important to us! We need all the motivation we can get. We just thought Claire wasn't ready to train seriously, but then we found out that she's using the bathroom at school, and not at home. Now we're reading the book, we have posted a chart, and we are even playing the Elmo video game,
So far one dooker today. I think the secret to the success is a DVD we got at Target called Elmo's Potty Time. It's great for kids and very entertaining for adults. We just need for her to work on telling us when she's ready - we're working on instinct right now.
