Happy Friday to everyone. We got some good reports yesterday from the daycare (Parents Day Out or PDO for those in the Know) that Maureen has been very sweet to babies. And that the younger tots look up to her. I'm not sure, but I think she is running for class president.
It's getting colder here and it truly feels like autumn - the leaves are FINALLY turning. I'll probably be raking well into late November. We are having some happy hour folks over for some chili (while it lasts) beer and appetizers tonight. After a while, we'll all walk to a neighborhood Halloween party for the kids nearby. I just need to make it through the workday and the fun can begin. I'm going to stop right here before I babble any further. Have a great weekend and feel free to leave some comments (I'm running out of ideas for entries - can you tell?)

How 'bout that chili recipe? Also, what kind of beer are you serving? Maybe a nice Oktoberfest brew? I just had a two-hour lunch at an Indian buffet, and it hurts to even think about food. Just wanted to let you know I'm going all-out here.
We'll have Bluegrass Brewing Co. beer (local micro-brew - very tasty) and some Hi-Lifes on hand as well.
Chili recipe changes from pot to pot but includes: ground meat, diced roast meat, chili powder, cumin, garlic, onions and jalapenos (sauted in bacon grease), oregano, cyanne pepper, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef bullion, kidney beans, salt and love! No spaghetti!
I must assume that this is the low-fat chili. I will give you my recipe for white chili one of these days. I might even make a big pot of white chili and have a November fest. White chili on a bitter cold day is a belly warmer!
any chili recipes from Sparky are bogus. Just check the results from last year's B-castle cookoff. El Cuarta still rules!
You can't go wrong with best overall chili at the Bonnycastle Club! Numero Uno. The only reason it didn't win popular choice is that the other guy brought a bus load of his friends. It was rot-gut as far as I'm concerned!
